Comics!Dick playing Batman
Dick's tall, dark hair, dark eyes, with good bone structure. He's been highly athletic his entire life, even before the superhero gig, which shows pretty significantly in his torso and arms.
Personality and Traits: The main thing to keep in mind when dealing with Dick is that he is an angry person. While later in the comics (after he becomes Nightwing) he gets more mature, as the first Robin he is known to be brash, impulsive, and downright bitchy. It has a lot to do with the fact that he has devoted himself to getting revenge for his parents' deaths, which translated to a strong desire for justice and a petulant desire to assist Batman.
He's highly pedantic, and is honestly... a teenage boy, which comes with a quick-temper, filthy mouth, low self control and selfish persistence. He's still very new to the superhero gig, which makes him pretty... honestly, bad at it. He makes basic rookie mistakes, and can go from cocky and overly confident in his poor decisions to self-conscious about the results in moments, making him relatively easy to beat.
However, he's also very protective of the people that matter the most - he's already lost enough of the people important to him that he's overcompensated in his other relationships.
Canon Background: OKAY. So, this is where I should make a note that I'll be pulling Dick from an alternate universe. Sort of. As is known by anyone who has read the comics and seen Batman Begins/The Dark Knight, you can see that Christopher Nolan (and he's said this in interviews) has made it his goal to retain the integrity of the characters while still making them appear more realistic. Seeing as Robin has yet to make an appearance, I'll be slightly tweaking his comics background to adjust it to this universe, so he'll be taken in the future from the continuum of the Dark Knight.
Dick was born in Gotham City to Adam and Cecilia Grayson. He lived a pretty normal life, loved and doted on by his mother, who was much too nice to leave her in-debt, gambling-addicted husband. Despite the problems, Dick hero-worshiped the man. In young Dick's eyes, he could do no wrong. However, that wasn't as true in the real world. You see, Adam Grayson got in deep with a lot of loan sharks, and the cost of that was to be paid in service - to Zucco's mob, a rival to the Meroni family. At a social gathering when he was 16 years old, while Dick was inside getting drinks for himself and his mother, Two-Face appeared to deliver some chance-based justice. Those who knew who he was and knew to be afraid did their best to escape, but as Dick was coming back out of the house, he saw Dent flipping for his parents' lives - unfortunately, chance wasn't on their side. But, it was on Dick's.
He stayed for two hours, holding his mother and sitting beside his father, crying. A seventeen-year-old boy, sobbing like a child. This is the scene that Batman came upon - too late to stop Dent, even if that was what he'd been called to do. Dick blamed him for bringing people like Two-Face to Gotham, and tried to attack him. Of course, he failed to even land a punch, but when he realized he couldn't do anything against this man, it occurred to him that he could do something to help instead - he begged for Batman to help him take out Two-Face.
Of course, Batman refused, but under Dick's persistence, he was convinced to take him in to train. Along with the discipline Bruce had learned on the mountain, he tried to teach Dick self-restraint and patience. How well it worked, we can't be sure... yet. After a year of training, Bruce finally started allowing Dick to come with him on patrols. By the time he gets pulled to InGen, he'll have been actively working with Batman as Robin for two years. During that time, Bruce officially adopted Dick rather than just allowing him to stay in the manor as his ward. It was pretty huge in terms of publicity, because, you know, Bruce Wayne. Dick was simply irritated by it because he felt like it was a publicity stunt, but eventually he came to see Bruce as a surrogate father figure.
And, since becoming Robin, he has encountered: Edward "The Riddler" Nygma/Nashton, Harvey "Two-Face" Dent, the Joker, Jonathan "Scarecrow" Crane and Catwoman. (I'm holding off on calling Catwoman Selina Kyle, since there have been rumors about Rachel Dawes making a reappearance as Catwoman.)
Strengths/Abilities: Since he was in middle school, Dick has been involved in cheerleading (no, it's not gay) and track/field, which is how he knows how to do the crazy gymnastics and tumbling involved in being the boy wonder, and it also required immense upper body strength, which became a considerable help once he joined up with Bruce. He's talented in gymnastics, flexibility, agility and physical strength. He was also trained in martial arts by Bruce, and while he's not quite so impressive (he didn't have the rugged conditions of a Bhutanese peak to accompany his training) as Bruce, he's quite adept.
Weaknesses/Faults: Dick's biggest weakness is his inexperience. He hasn't learned how to control his emotions and separate personal feelings from the job, he hasn't learned to stop making the rookie mistakes, and he hasn't learned to be as discerning a detective as Bruce. Mostly, however, his problem is his temper, because he has poor self control to begin with, but especially when angered.
Items Brought With Them (anything aside from the clothes on their back): He'll be showing up in his Robin suit so that he has all his gadgets - a summary would include handcuffs (...stfu), grappling hook, smoke bombs, communicator (will not receive a signal on the island), batarangs, rebreather (15 minutes of fresh air in poison air/underwater)
First Person Sample: ...All right, this thing is bound to reach someone, somewhere. Or it's worth trying. Because, I'm pretty sure I just saw a fucking dinosaur outside the window.
I... Christ, man.
I should know this is useless, dammit, but the communicator's not working and the communicator isn't getting a signal, there must be something jamming it. Batman, can you hear me? This is Robin.

YOU'VE REACHED DICK GRAYSON'S VOICEMAIL...
What's up? Guess I'm not around. Hey, if it's really important, try the big guy's cell, otherwise just drop me a line here and I'll get around to it... eventually. I dunno, I don't really check this all that often but I'll get the message.
